Club Secretary/Treasurer/Head Coach/Welfare Officer 1:-

Russell Clarke currently fulfils the above roles, along with general dogsbody, although he is assisted by a second female welfare officer below. Russell is the only remaining founding member of Flukey Feathers Badminton Club. Although now “gainfully” employed in the gas & electric utilities industry, he is also a part time level 2 coach, which he fits in around his other work, which consists of his own photographic studio – “Prophoto – Queens Park Studios” and Ni-Cd Services (dealing with rechargeable battery packs).  When not consumed by work, he is also on the committee of the Dorset CBA (County Badminton Association) also known as the Dorset Badminton Association. He fulfils various roles for the DBA, including representing our County at National level in Milton Keynes, as the Badminton England Representative. He was also on the committee of the now dissolved Bournemouth CBN (community Badminton Network). Russell is the main contact for the  club.

Welfare Officer 2

Laura Bailey, is a primary school teacher in Bournemouth and is a level 1 coach. She has also undertaken her specific sports welfare training, in addition to welfare training undertaken within her teaching job. Laura is also currently the Captain of our fist mixed team in the Dorset League. She was also the proud ladies winner of our first ever Rovi Jongco Tournament, which was held in July 2016.

Working Committee.

The working committe (also known as the selection committee), is voted in each year at our AGM. They are responsible for helping the Secretary with any matters arising that need voting on or discussing. The Secretary will have to make some urgent decisions (usually with regards day to day running of the club) without consulting them; but anything which affects the club and can be voted on will be discussed in detail with them.

The current members are as follows:- Russell Clarke (Secretary & Treasurer), Yvonne Mills, Alan Warren, Sophie Limb, Andy Williams, Massimo D’Angelo and Thomas Trach.
